Let’s Chuck Some Stuff
Your goal is one big black garbage bag!
Â
You want to get yourself a big black garbage bag and run through your house and just fill it up. Do not bother to try to “sort”!
Â
Meaning, don’t put shoes in one bag, tops in one bag, knickknacks in another.
Â
Just… run around… and fill your bag.
Â
Try your best to do it fast. You can set a 10 or 15 min timer.
Â
Speed is your friend here. The longer that you take, the more thought you will give each object. The more thought you gave each object, the more opportunities you give your very intelligent brain to find a reason why you could still “use it“ or should really “keep it“.
Â
Your bonus goal is to make sure that two or three of the objects in your black garbage bag are genuinely awesome!
Â
What do I mean by awesome?
Â
Every once in awhile you go into a thrift store (here in Australia Thrift stores are called “Opportunity Shops“ – which I actually think is a better name) and you find something in amazing condition.
Â
You find a coach purse (I've gotten 2!), you find brand new shoes or clothes with tags on them and items fresh from the dry cleaners. You find a beautiful work of art that someone donated that’s not chipped or torn or moldy!
Â
Picture yourself being that person who provides THAT welcome surprise to the thrift store shopper.
Â
Be sure to give away things that still have use and value and beauty.
This will make you feel amazing & abundant.
Â
Not only will your home be cleaner & energetically lighter, you’ll know you’re doing a great deed for some other Alpha in the world… PLUS you will be making space to receive better stuff!
Â
If you need more support on this, just find Marie Kondo’s stuff, because she’s a genius.
Â
Remember, nature doesn't leave empty spaces, so MAKE ONE!Â
