- Consciously Commit to the value that is important to you,
- Get Clarity on what blocks that Commitment from happening,
- Make your Choice - Choose your Commitment, regardless of cost (blocks) to following it, or Not.
- Take Action - Do ONE thing right now to protect this value.
EXAMPLE
Commit: I value continuously building a healthy marriage.
Clarity: Old fears of being seen as needy kept me from asking for what I really wanted.
Choice: Even if it cost a divorce, the loss of the wrong partner & starting over, I am choosing to build my healthy marriage.
Action: Hire Tanya (just kidding, was making sure you were paying attention!). Decide what a “healthy” marriage means to you, so you know what you are aiming at.
This woman could then go on to her next steps of figuring out what IS healthy and what is NOT within that present marriage.
DANGER: Action is where most of you want to start. So it’s no wonder you get frustrated or fail to reach your goals. It’s because you didn’t do Steps One through Three first.
I also teach that Step Four is where the Universe acts.
Most people don’t begin anything because they’re waiting for the Universe to take action first. You’ve heard the famous quote, you take one step and God takes two.
Take the four steps. Do the work. Practice this decision process until it becomes reflexive.
