Here in Australia, they have a saying, “make it short, sharp and
shiny”.
That means make your speech or lesson brief and too the point.
Let’s do that.
Here’s the SHORT:
The most important thing a child can
experience is the security of love,
given by emotionally balanced couples, who prioritize themselves,
the couple, the family and THEN
the individual child.
In that utopia, we learn everything we need to know about creating and maintaining healthy relationships, our inherent value, practicing self love AND giving and receiving trust - all while being a part of a “bigger unit” (the family) that has needs that we
honor AHEAD OF our own.
So there’s good news and there’s bad news.
Bad news is that, neither I nor you, were raised in that utopia.
Our moms were Alphas who missed out on some part of that foundational experience from their own mothers.
And therefore…so did we.
The good news?
We can still fill in the gaps.
(And actually NEED to, as a priority.)
We need to own the
truth that we STILL need to fill in what we missed back then.
Here’s the SHARP:
If she didn’t have something, neither do you.
You are either missing what she was OR you’ve overcompensated for whatever THAT was and are now missing something else.
Here’s the SHINY:
Hating her or worshipping her are the same.
Neither of these UNDERSTAND what happened,
so much as react to it or cover it
up.
And you must seek understanding of the Mothering you had, in order to truly forgive (her and your environment) and to love (her, yourself and your origins).
So I invite you to look at the Mothering you got as a child
and OWN what was missing.
Look at yourself today and see how what was missing, totally shaped you into who you are NOW, for better or worse.
Own that truth! It can set you free of buried resentment. It is also the first step on the path to
attracting the Mothering you STILL NEED.
