It humbled me immensely to realize that IF a bee could pray, they WERE praying and I was sent to answer. It had a holy quality that even kept my husband from teasing me about spending my swim time saving creatures I'd let him kill in the house.
And I was sad over the one that didn't make it.
I wasn't fast enough. He got swept so far out, I had to swim hard with a stick between my teeth. I lost sight of him but didn't give up.
The Universe takes care of us the same way. God will send help after you if you ask and you need it.
While writing this, I realized I've done this for years with...worms! After a hard rain they get washed out of their homes onto the sidewalk. If the sun comes out, they can dry out before they can make it back to safety. That always struck me as wrong too.
Looking at a worm going the wrong way, knowing he won't make it? I can't do nothing. It must be the coach in me. I've tossed worms back in the shady grass for 30+ years (and yes I wash my hands after).

Final story. Last week I got some cheap steaks. They were "meh." My husband ate both his and I had one left. We decided to chuck my medium-well outside, knowing there is a feral cat on our property who would likely hit the jackpot.
It felt AMAZING to go outside together and fling it to the grass. SOMETHING would be fed!
