Question #1: What Wasted My Time?
I could stop writing here. You already know. But do the work and ask yourself what were the biggest ways that you "spent" the currency of your life that you can now see was NOT valuable.
Here is the trick. That does NOT mean, it wasn't interesting, noble or valuable to SOMEONE. I mean valuable to YOU, as in it helped give you Love, Health, Wealth or Mission.
There are lots of noble things we do that waste our precious resources furthering someone else's dream and neglecting our own.
Identify it. Call it out. No more baking for the school til midnight? So be it.
No more working out after work just so your co-worker can tag along when you'd rather do it early am? DONE.
No more listening to "that friend's" endless tale of woe, who won't do a darn thing (including read anything you sent her) to change her situation? YEP. Chuck that.
Now that you cannot do what you want to do, it's easy to see where you were wasting yourself doing things that you didn't REALLY want to do.
Question #2: What Gives Me More Than I Put In?
I've taught this before. There is a law of balance in the Universe. And I believe the only time it appears to be violated is when you are acting on your purpose. When aligned with your soul's mission, it FEELS like you are getting way more back, that you put in!
Now that you've stepped off the full-time stage of your life, pick out the bits that LIT YOU UP. That gave and gave. That made you a better person. That showed you what love is.
Do not beat yourself up if you only find one thing or half-a thing. Even if you don't find anything, that's information you needed to know.
Teaching gives me more out than I put in. Breaking people free lights me up. It's my "thing." What's your thing?
Question #3: What Excuses Will You Allow to BLOCK You From Doing More of #2 and Less of #1?
I'm not being sarcastic. You have to identify what has stopped you in the past or you WILL.DO.IT.AGAIN.
What did you let get in the way? Kids? Work? Health? Distance? Money??
You must name your enemy and set a watch
Sooner or later, isolation will end and "so called life" will resume. You must not let it go back to what it was before.
You must not lose The Lessons of Isolation.
Be willing and ready to sacrifice those "#1 things" that you don't even really value, to have & do MORE of what you DO VALUE.
Isolation Makes You Chose Your Values
